Insecticide

This is where idiocy comes to die. Welcome to the Poli-Ticks page from the latin words Poli meaning many and Ticks meaning blood sucking insects. The libtards will tell you one thing, regardless of logic and evidence, but here, you'll hear the logic and evidence and that is like a holding up a cross to the liberal, it drives them away hissing and screaming.

One caveat: i try to limit my use of foul language, and by limit i mean, none. feel free to post rebuttals to my articles, but please limit your use of foul language in the same way. excessive foul language will be deleted, and i will determine what is excessive.

Why do I Feel Helpless?

i feel like i have no recourse here. i live in maryland, and in maryland, it is legal for the government to record you in public, but it is illegal for you to record the government in public. let's go over this in a little more detail here.
the police in this nation are becoming increasingly tyrannical, with stories of police brutality all over the internet. from the po po beating a truck driver almost to death for no reason, to killing an asthmatic SUSPECTED of having cocaine when he really didn't, to the police shooting an old man in his own home when he had armed himself to investigate a suspicious noise, police misconduct is rampant, and more and more, you can't do anything to hold them accountable. it's your word against the 5-0 (or 2-5 here in b-more) and people have been conditioned that the police are your friends, they're here to help, honour and integrity. except the police state has none. you are at their mercy, at their discretion.

so, back to the meat of my post. since the advent of camera phones, more and more people have been really putting the police's feet to the fire by recording misconduct. so, what's happening now? the states don't like their shock troops being tried in the court of public opinion, so more and more states are passing laws and forcing interpretations of existing laws that take the power out of the peoples hands and restore the status quo. so what's the solution?

this nation was founded with a system of checks and balances. when i say that, most people will think only of the three branches, the disbursed powers, the limited scope of government, etc. but there are more systems in place, namely, the sheriffs, and the jury. if the sheriffs refuse to enforce the law, the law has no power on the people, that's why the sheriff is the highest law enforcement official in the land, and an elected official who answers to the people. the jury is the other, and it is on this count that the people have been outright lied to. we have been told, and jury's instructed, that they are not to determine the fairness of a law, only if it has been broken. but this is not true, if a law is unjust, and the statutes of that law have been broken, how can a crime actually been said to have been commited. if it is against the law for me to chew gum, but i do it anyway, against who have i sinned? no one, and that is why the law is unjust and the jury must find not guilty.

so, the solution. start a marketing campaign. start posting flyers that say, "fight police corruption, record your encounters with the police." put the issue in the court of public opinion. then, record the police, and defend yourself on the merits of recording a public official, in public, in the course of performing their public duties, where they have no expectation of privacy. let's make them sweat, before it's too late.
