Poli-Ticks and the Primer of Rights
so, i recently had this major discussion on the other forums with my friend Osiris regarding gun rights, which then devolved into an argument over the basic nature of rights, and it occurred to me: osi didn't actually have a firm understanding of the nature of rights. now, this isn't anything against osi, he's a smart man with a lot of knowledge to impart, but he does seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding as to the basic nature of human rights. to him, rights are semantic, it's all in the language, but the true nature of rights is something much more.

i'm a pasty white boy, so there's gonna be a lot of folks who will inevitably say that i'm a racist because i'm white and talking about racism. to those people: stop being racist. saying i can't talk about something because i'm white is the very definition of racism.

Putting Poli-Ticks Under the Gun
what is going on here folks? i absolutely do not understand. all of the lunatics are coming out of the wood work and yelling "BAN THE GUNS!!!" like a bunch of freaking retards. let's just make one thing very clear here: gun control only works if your goal is to control the people. if your goal is safety, you need to consider a brief reading of history, because no one who is denied a gun is safer someone who owns one. just look at chicago.
chicago is like, the gun control mecca of America. liberals reglarly make a pilgrimage to the city, except they realize they'll probablly be shot in chicagos city wide gun free zone, and then just make a pilgrimage around chicago. last year (2012), chicago had 532 murders. 532! duval county, the murder capital in florida, had less than 100. as of january 31st of this year, chicago has had 40, while tampa pd, as of february 5th, has not reported one.
people, if you are liberty minded, you need to stop being timid. every liberal enclave in the country has more violence, poverty, and corruption than any place conservatives have control. and i'm not talking about the republicans, they are just as guilty for our current predicament as the democrats. i'm talking about constitutional libertarianism, the kind embodied by our founding fathers. we need to take back our country from the racist hatemongers that parade around under the guise of liberal progressives. but back to guns.
some people will cite the border states, some of the most gun friendly in the country, as examples of why more gun control is required. these people ignore, however, that most of the violence in the border states is perpetrated by gangs of mexicans crossing the border, illegally mind you, to rape, rob, and murder Americans. we're in the middle of an undeclared war with mexico that our government refuses to protect us from. and then they attack people who want that protection garunteed by the constitution by calling them racists. and then call them war mongers for wanting that AR15 with the 30 round magazine, 4 magnification scope, and bipod so they can protect their life, family, and property.
gun control is a failed idea and the fact that we are still entertaining it should be considered criminal in the face of so much death brought on by policies that strip people of their liberties. people want to protect children, but refuse to listen to any idea that doesn't involve putting them at greater risk. they want safer streets but seek to outlaw self defense. england recently imprisoned a man for defending himself in his own home. i can't stand the thought that we may be headed there.
